After experiencing a mixture of fear, panic and other emotions this first weekend of “shelter in place” in San Francisco, I realized something thanks to conversations and reminders from dear friends who inspire courage within me.

Courage comes in many forms — emotional, physical, spiritual, to name a few. I remember being so moved when I first learned of the sacrifice and suffering of covid-19’s original whistleblower, the Dr. Li Wenliang, and his courage to do the right thing in the face of arrest and trauma for his entire family.

I realize I can easily cower at home, panicked and afraid of the endless ways covid can upend my life. Or I can choose to lean into the fear and take action on various fronts in my life…

Heading back to India for the third time in three months to begin shooting our new VR project, A LOVE LETTER FROM THE GODDESS GANGA, featuring the ocean and river conservation efforts of Renew Oceans and the female waste pickers that support them.

We will work in the ancient city of Varanasi along the Ganges. It’s one of the oldest continually inhabited cities of the world. More to come!

Imagine the tremendous peace that would prevail in this world if we truly adhered to this…

Yet, transforming the self might be the hardest thing we ever do in our lifetime. And I don’t mean achieving external markers of success…

Every few years, when the buildup of daily life takes hold and my home meditation practice is no longer enough to scrub away the fog on the lens of my mind and spirit, I come to Nikora. …

In the span of about one month, from Thanksgiving through Christmas, I traveled 41,104 miles. One crazy combo included flying to Pune, India via Paris (an unexpected reroute), returning via Incheon, Korea, sleeping one night in SF, then going back to Asia the next morning, landing in Shanghai. I sat in Dreamliner seat 40A three times in a row, and spent one night at home in SF three separate times in between international flights, never staying in one bed for more than three nights. All told, I’m blessed but exhausted!

The Redemption of Marie Antoinette was selected and featured at the Cannes XR Kaleidoscope Development Showcase.

It has been a busy spring at U-Ma Studios!

In April, for The Redemption of Marie Antoinette I headed to Paris for a meeting at the Chateau de Versailles. In addition to many packed days of business meetings, I also scouted several historical sites that would be featured in the pilot episode. While in Vienna, I obtained private access to apartments where Marie Antoinette and her sisters grew up. The little archduchess was everywhere in the paintings on the walls. The historian told me many people come to Vienna to learn about her Austrian origins. …
